Pelvic Release Practitioner

I am a midwife offering Internal Pelvic Release work, I have been trained by the incredible Fiona Hallinan who amongst some of her qualifications is founder of The Pelvic Space in Melbourne and a Spinning Babies ® trainer.

I have worked as a midwife both in the public system and in private practice. The public system particularly doesn’t always support women’s bodies to labour and birth without disruption; which is what has motivated me to offer this work to women. I want to optimise women’s bodies for pregnancy and birth to improve their chance of having a physiological birth. Women’s birthing experiences stay with them for life – it’s so important we do all we can to prepare for this.

Internal Pelvic Release (IPR) is beneficial to women in all stages of life. There are lots of lifestyle factors, medical history or life experiences that effect the function of the pelvis. Internal release work helps release tensions which can impact on nerves, muscles, ligaments and fascia – when there is a disruption in this network the result can be pain, altered sensation or dysfunction.

There are lots of different conditions and or reasons women seek out internal release:

  • Birth preparation or birth recovery, or understanding their birth experience

  • Endometriosis

  • Prolapse

  • Discomfort, pain or lack of sensation with intimacy including vaginismus

  • Infertility

  • Any other reason women feel they may benefit

I like to allow 2 hours for Internal release sessions; I do not rush this work I want to spend time getting to know you and your story, my aim is that you feel relaxed and comfortable, we will do some external work first before internal work and then I like to offer education or take home advice.

Medicare rebates may be eligible for pregnant clients. For any enquires please contact me on 0436 319 010.
