Dianna Cox

eco-somatic Psychologist

Dianna is a somatically trained Eco Psychologist with over 30 years experience in the field of mental health.  She is the owner of Inscape Psychology on the Mornington Peninsula.

Dianna specialises in helping women unravel the barriers that stand in the way of personal agency. As a result of living under thousands of years of patriarchy, women carry deeply held conditioning that can stifle verbal, sexual and creative expression. Through the felt sense of the body, Dianna helps women reclaim their innate sense of connection to self and the earth.

Dear Beautiful Women,

Can you feel a yearning, a longing for something you cannot name? A calling from the depths? It is time to listen. As Modernity spins out of control we need to wake up. Wake up to our bodies, our instinctual knowing.

So much of who we understand ourselves to be is through the mind. And yet, this story of self is no more than deeply held programming that lives in our tissue, blood and bones. Our personal trauma experiences but also our ancestors. We come into this life already holding so much from those that have gone before.

In a women’s lineage, this involves the systematic cutting off from our instinctual power and the knowing of our rightful place in the order of life as co-creators with the Great Mother. How have we forgotten the power of our womb? Where truth lives as clear as the light of day.

We cannot come back home without unravelling the body. Somatic lies are held in our entire being. Head, heart and belly. Embedded programming to keep us contained that shows up as fear. Fear when we say no, when we do not caretake, when we dare to listen to the truth inside. And this fear can manifest as guilt, shame, self-doubt.

The invitation is to burn. Burn the lies and what no longer serves us. It takes enormous courage to take this path. But we do not do it alone. We have Mother Earth. We have our ancestors who long for us to heal. We have our dreams that reveal deeper truths. And we have all the unseen beings of this world, allies waiting to help.

I am not interested in supporting you to sort through your personal dramas. This is not the work. Although what shows up in our external life can help point us towards what wants to burn and heal.

Please listen. If something about what I have shared is nagging at you and won’t go away, reach out and let’s have a conversation about whether this work is right for you. Sometimes other forms of therapy and bodywork maybe more useful and needed.

With much love, Dianna
