Melissa Kelton
Clinical Nutritionist
I am a local mum of three and a degree qualified clinical nutritionist who has treated patients in the Torrens University student clinic for over a year. I have helped patients with a variety of health conditions, including weight loss, perimenopause, menopause, eating disorders, diet optimisation, eczema, long COVID, and autoimmune conditions.
As a clinical nutritionist, I can provide advice on diet, lifestyle, and nutritional supplementation to correct imbalances and deficiencies in the body and to maintain optimal health. I approach disease prevention and management from a holistic and multidimensional perspective, considering nutrient adequacy, absorption, food quality, pathophysiology, dietary behaviours, lifestyle, laboratory tests, functional tests, current medications and family and medical history when developing individualised treatment plans.
My practice is guided by scientific evidence, clinical reasoning, and ethics to ensure that my diet, supplement, and lifestyle recommendations are effective and safe. I work collaboratively with my patients to integrate traditional and practical food wisdom and current scientific evidence to guide and support my patients on their wellness journey.
